Supreme Court of Nigeria don overturn di judgement of di Appeal Court wey say Nnamdi Kanu no go stand trial again due to di way wey dem use bring am come Nigeria.

Di panel of Judges of di Supreme Court say Nnamdi Kanu must continue im trial

Di leader of di Indigenous People of Biafra (Ipob) Nnamdi Kanu, im followers across di world and Nigerians bin dey wait to know im fate on Friday 15 December, 2023.

Nigeria highest court wey be di Supreme court of Nigeria deliver di judgement on di mata wey start since 2021 from di Federal High Court, Abuja.

Justice Emmanuel Agim wey read di lead judgement wey Justice Garba Mohammed prepare say goment commit illegalities against Nnamdi Kanu as dem invade Kanu house afta court grant am bail.

Dem still commit illegality wen dem go wia im dey, bring am to Nigeria by kidnap and abduction to face trial wey no follow di normal extrajudicial procedure.

But di court come say even though di process wey dem use bring Kanu dey illegal, e no mean say im dey free from trial.

Supreme Court tok say di judgement Court of Appeal bin give, wey tok say Nnamdi Kanu no suppose face trial again sake of di way dem use bring am, dey correct but dat one na international law.

Dem add say di Appeal Court judges fail to mention any legislation or law for Nigeria wey support dat claim.

Dem go further to explain say for Nigeria law, dat kain tin no dey, sake of say Nigeria law neva develop reach di level wey dem go throway case because dem use force arrest di alleged criminal.

“In case di police destroy di house of a suspect to obtain exhibits, e mean say we go troway di offence against di suspect?

Di solution na to follow civil proceedings. We no go fit stop proceedings sake of violation of di rights of di suspects, no be our law for now.

We decide not to go wit di Court of Cppeal. Even though we condemn di violation of im rights.”

“Nigeria must redeem e image and respect di rule of law.

If dem bin don grant pesin bail, why una go go invade im house? Justice Emmanuel Agim ask.

E dey irresponsible, make una no blame am for running.”

No legislation for dis kontri wey remove di trial court of di jurisdiction to go ahead wit Kanu case, despite di illegal action of di federal goment.

Di law must take it’s course.

Di Court of Appeal dey wrong to to talk say di trial court (Federal High Court) no fit try am.

We allow di appeal and dismiss di cross-appeal.” Justice Agim conclude.
