Ireland, Spain and Norway wan recognise to Palestine as a state from 28 May, as dem call for oda kontris make dem joinbodi.

Some kontris don already recognise Palestine as a state.

About 143 members of the United Nations don already recognise Palestinian as state.

Na only nine European kontris don support Palestinian statehood and most of di kontris wey take di decision for 1988 dey part of di Soviet bloc.

So for Norway, Ireland and Spain to join dia number e dey both rare and significant.

Dis kontris hope not only to signal symbolic support for Palestinians but also to put some momentum into political process dem hope dem fit help end di fighting.

Israel recall di envoys to Ireland and Norway for “urgent consultation”, and plan to do di same for di Spanish envoy.

But odas including di United States and di United Kingdom neva recognise Palestinian state.

Norway, Ireland and Spain dey play diplomatic card dem hope say odas go pick am up. But e go fit change di reality wey dey on ground.

On Wednesday morning, Irish PM, Simon Harris hold press conference for goment building for Dublin.

Oga Harris tok say na “important and historic day for Ireland and for Palestine”.

E tok say from dia history know say recognition mean act of “powerful political and symbolic value,” as e dey refer to Ireland independence from Britain in di 20th Century.

E describe di Hamas attack on 7 October as “barbaric”, and call “again for all hostages to be immediately returned to di arms of dia loved ones”.

“But make e also dey clear, Hamas no be di Palestinian people. Today decision to recognise Palestine go help create peaceful future.

“Two-state solution na di only way out of di generational cycles of violence, retaliation and resentment…

“Just as Ireland recognition as state eventually lead to di establishment of our now peaceful republic, we believe say Palestinian statehood go contribute to peace and to reconciliation in di Middle East.”

For Madrid, di Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez tok say Israel prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu dey “still play deaf ears… e still dey bomb hospitals and schools and punishing women and children wit hunger and cold”.

Spain tok say di decision “no dey against Israel” and “no be in favour of Hamas… na in favour of peace.”

Di Prime Minister speech receive applause for parliament.

While addressing di parliament, e tok say Spain goment dey recognise Palestine for many reasons – “peace, justice and consistency.”

“We go make sure say di two-state solution dey respected and mutual guarantees of security must dey,” di spanish PM tok.

“E dey essential say di two sides negotiate for peace and na for dis reason we wan recognise Palestine.

“We no fit allow dis. Weget obligation to act. In Palestine like in Ukraine witout double standards.

“We need to send humanitarian aid, and help to di refugees we don dey dis. But we go need do more.

“Dis recognition no dey against Israel, e no dey against di Jews.”

Norway foreign minister don post ontop X about di kontri decision to “recognise Palestine as a state”.

Espen Barth Eide tok say “Two-state solution na di only viable pathway to peace for both Israel and Palestine.”

“For dis critical juncture, our recognition dey come in support of di work toward comprehensive plan for regional peace.”

Norway don long support two-state solution for Israel and di Palestinians and mediate di highly secretive discussion wey lead to di 1993 Oslo Accords wey result in limited self-rule by di Palestinian Authority in di West Bank and Gaza.

Israel Foreign Minister Israel Katz call di three kontris’ decision “distorted step”, wey show say “terrorism pay.”

Hamas say today move na ‘turning point’

Inside one statement to AFP, Bassem Naim, senior Hamas figure, tok say di “brave resistance” of di Palestinian people dey behind di move.

“Dis successive recognitions na di direct result of dis brave resistance and di legendary steadfastness of di Palestinian pipo,” e tok.

“We believe dis go be di turning point in di international position on di Palestinian issue.

“Wit dis significant step, Spain, Norway and Ireland don once again demonstrate dia unwavering commitment to di two-state solution and to delivering di long overdue justice to di Palestinian pipo.

Di foreign minister ask oda international community to take dis decision as soon as possible.

“Further, di recognitions of Spain, Norway and Ireland, dey in line wit international law and all United Nations relevant resolutions, wey go turn to contribute positively to all international effort towards ending di Israeli Illegal occupation and achieving peace and stability in diu region.”
